Freshtival is that time at the start of the university year that the powers that be have truly blessed us with. Summer has ended, school has started, but UoB makes this transition more fun. This festival is like no other, not only does it help you get to know the people you’ll be living and working with for the next couple of years, but it also serves as your induction into the quirky, cultural town that is Hastings.
And we, the Freshtival team, are excited to show you the best bits. With AAA wristbands costing a mere £49, you are get free entry for all the events we’re about to go list for you! Bargain!
The day doesn’t end here, the fun carries on with the Moving In party at Clambers on Saturday evening. You can either enjoy drinks at the bar or awaken the kid that lies within us all and climb around the large play zone. Whatever you choose, it’ll be fun regardless.
The SU's event description for the evening: The interactive pub quiz is a mixture of physical and mental challenges as well as some traditional pub quiz rounds aimed at breaking the ice and helping you make new friends.
Sounds good right? It Is. This is also an AAA wristband event.
One of the best things on offer at this event is the opportunity to join a society here at UoB.
To top off this day, there is a ‘Roller Disco’ at YMCA starting at 5:30pm.
Yes, Roller. Disco.
ROLLER FREAKING DISCO MAN *boogies*.
Thursday, 1st October - In Priory Square there will be a ‘Coffee Morning’ to raise money for McMillian Cancer Support.
Thursday Night will be ‘Hastings Big Night Out’ (The university doesn’t like actively advocating bar crawls, but it is essentially a bar crawl. And that’s good, because bar crawls are awesome).
This time round it takes inspiration from Ibiza’s Zoo Project to bring us the Hastings Zoo Bar Crawl, so shed your skin to show your stripes! (It will however not be Ibiza unfortunately, but instead East Sussex in October,so bring a coat okay?)
Like the SU says, ‘Bingo, but not as you know it’
It's not the end of the world if you don't get one though, tickets will be sold individually for each event at your SU office.
