Hastings takes the torch being the first town in Sussex to host the annual Bonfire and Firework Night of 2015.
This is an annual commemoration also known as Guy Fawkes Day which stems from the events of 5 November 1605, a failed attempt on the life of King James I.
Members of the Gunpowder Plot placed explosives beneath the House of Lords with the aim of assassinating the protestant King and replacing him with a Catholic head of state.
