The Hastings Hustings event, which was organised by the Hastings Independent, and was held at the YMCA in St. Leonard's last week and it's fair to say, the results were a surprise to the public and the candidates.
Sitting conservative MP, Amber Rudd, only secured 18 votes from the event, while Green Party's Jake Bowers stole the show with 72 votes and Sarah Owen, from the Labour party, only winning by five points above Bowers.
However, these results have done little to change the odds at the bookies as Labour are still favourites to win the election with the odds of 4/9. Conservatives are second favourites and the controversial UKIP party are third.
Despite the Hustings event, the Green Party and Liberal Democrats fall into the background of the election with the odds of 100/1.

In Hastings, it was clear that UKIP candidate, Andrew Michael was not among fans; especially after hearing his somewhat dated views on sex education.
Michael was quoted saying "sex education should not be taught in primary schools" and that sex should only be had in "a loving, long term relationship."
The Hustings event has helped many people decide who they're going to vote for and it seems to be a two horse race between the Greens and Labour.
All will be revealed in the coming weeks and there's still time for all parties to campaign in a bid to secure last minute votes from the Hastings and Rye constituency.
